The Ottawa Citizen - November 5, 1853 →
I just discovered Google has 15000 archived copies of my hometown’s newspaper, going back to 1853. This is (technically) the first paper they have listed. The actual first paper, listed as appearing on July 30, 1820, actually contains a typo on the front page, where 1920 is incorrectly typed as 1820. Google has yet to discover this error. I’m trying to figure out a way to contact them.
